Old hands or young guns?

We hired three employees over 50 last year. Sometimes we get asked whether we are no longer attracting any young talent. The truth is that we need a healthy mix: Young guns are inquisitive and open to everything new. Who dive right in and who want to move up the ladder. The future belongs to them and this group will gradually take on more responsibilities over the next few years.

However, we also need old hands: They have the experience, knowledge, and necessary prudence. They are professionals and experts in their field. And they serve as mentors for our younger coworkers. Is there anything more fulfilling than helping a young person at the start of their professional life?

This is just one reason why our employees over 50 are just as valuable as our post-millennials. And that is precisely why we will continue to invest in training our young talent as well as hiring old hands.
