We installed our first CAD software almost 30 years ago, and the first programming system for drilling/milling was installed over 25 years ago. In order to further improve the handover from product development to production, we invested in a new CAD/CAM system last year.
Going forward, the individual departments will work with a consistent data format. Error-prone data imports and conversions are now a thing of the past. This approach has significant advantages in terms of cost, quality and time:
- Accelerated transition time between design and manufacturing ensures faster turnaround times
- Any geometries that are expensive to produce are detected early in the development process and can be optimized before moving to production
- The error rate is further minimized thanks to the consistent data format
We can now take advantage of all these benefits in the production of our hydraulic manifolds.
