In a world where there is one crisis after another, it is becoming increasingly challenging to manage a company. We cannot change many of the things that disturb and affect us. But within our company proper, we definitely have opportunities to tackle things head on and take action.
But given the large number and the sheer complexity of the challenges involved, it is important for everyone to get involved. Problems need to be addressed and, wherever possible, solved as soon as they arise. Who knows more about the workflows in a department than the employees directly on site?
To raise awareness of this topic among all team members, we have introduced the Gemba walk in production. With this, we are taking yet another step towards a corporate culture of participation. Everyone can get involved and take responsibility. The first few months were a complete success and the first improvements became apparent to everyone very quickly. This practice will help the company in turbulent times. And it helps create worker satisfaction and strengthen bonds within the team.
